Kenny Lunt is delighted that new signing Daniel Powell chose Crewe Alexandra over a host of other clubs this summer. Powell, 28, moved to Gresty Road from Northampton Town last week, and Lunt believes that the former MK Dons forward will bring a fresh dimension to our attack with his power and pace.
The club’s assistant manager told the club’s official website: “Daniel is a good age and has played a much higher level than we find ourselves. He is a good player and when he came in, we liked what he had to say and he liked what we had to say.
“The conversation was really positive and we are happy he chose us because there were other clubs interested in him as well. There was some competition for his signature, so we are happy that he is prepared to travel, put the work in and play for us.
“I am sure he looked at the team and wants to improve us and be successful. He is a good character and a good player and he was right up there at the top of our list, so we are pleased to have got it done.”
