Club Hopeful On Wintle Signing A New Deal

12 June 2019

Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that there are ‘one or two’ of our own players that we will be looking to tie down on longer contracts. The club’s assistant manager stresses that once the summer recruitment is out of the way, we will concentrate on offering new deals to the likes of young midfielder Ryan Wintle.

The 21-year-old joined the club from Alsager Town in 2015 and has gone on to make 92 appearances in all competition. Despite operating as mostly the deep lying midfielder, he has also chipped in with 5 goals.

Kenny told the club’s official website: “There might be one or two more who are coming into their last year – players we want here for a while.

“We want to avoid them getting into their last year because it becomes the situation we have seen in the past, when players wait to see if they have other options.

“Everyone knows we look after our own.

“Ryan (Wintle) seems like he’s going to sign when we’ve had the conversations, but you never know because other people can get involved.

“But it looks positive and hopefully it’ll be a matter of time before he signs a new contract.

The assistant manager added: “He is very consistent and we really miss him when he’s not there. We’ll be delighted if Ryan signs, he’s done so well.”
