David Artell has told the club’s official website that he and his staff will run the rule over three trialists when the squad returns to full time training tomorrow (Thursday). The Alex boss will give a chance to three potential new signings and they will get ample chance to impress in training and then into the pre-season fixtures, starting at Nantwich on July 6th.
David told crewealex.net: “We’ve got three trialists, so we’ll be having a good look at them.
“There are many different ways of them being offered the chance to come in, through different contacts, and there could be more later on in the month and into next month.
“I don’t particularly look at the trialists in training, I want them to get my attention because that makes me want to sit up and take notice, as opposed to me looking for something.
“You have to understand their character and demeanour on and off the pitch, but the rest of the time you want them to catch their eye with their play.
The boss added: “It’s about assessing them with enough scrutiny without risking trying to see something that isn’t there, or missing something that is there.”
