First team coach backs the crop of players here already to have a succesful season.
Alex Morris says that in terms of numbers in the Crewe Alexandra squad we would be fine to enter into the new season, but the first team coach says that the gaffer is still trying to find another centre-half and forward to supplement what we have.
Crewe travel to Altrincham this weekend for our latest pre-season fixture with two new signings with us, in Daniel Powell and Olly Lancashire, but with time on side in the summer window, the staff are still seeking a couple more new faces.
The Alex first team coach told us: "We probably are where we are in terms of numbers.
"Obviously it would be nice to get a couple more in, but there's not a lot of room for manoeuvre in terms of finances.
"A centre half and striker, that would be what most supporters of the club would see as the main area to recruit.
"They aren't easy to get in though, players as good as or better than what we have got, and for them to fit inside our financial bracket.
"However, the players are good enough now.
“We have lots in this current group who have played plenty of games, we've still got the (Paul)Greens, we've still got the (Nicky) Hunts and the (Eddie) Nolans, so if we went into the first game of the season in August with the squad we've got now, of course we'd be confident we could still obtain results."
