David Artell has told the club’s official website that he expects some developments over the future of Shaun Miller this week. The 31-year-old is available this summer as he searches for more game time at first time level.
Artell is open to the experienced forward leaving on a permanent or loan deal this summer but has said that any move will have to suit all parties involved. Miller has 12 months remaining on his current deal, but his chances became limited last season after a change of formation saw Chris Porter and Jordan Bowery preferred in forward positions.
The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “I think there will be developments, one way or another this week. Which way it will go I am sure yet.
“It is an on-going situation and I am sure it will be resolved soon. There are still six weeks until the end of the transfer window so it is not crunch time yet but we have a lot of games in August and we need to get on with it to see where we are going or what we might need.
The boss added: “I have said it before that I am in no rush for Shaun to leave because he is a good player but he has said that he wants to play first team football and I am doing everything I can to make that happen, so we will see what develops.”
