Loan: Shaun Miller Leaves For Morecambe

24 July 2019

Crewe Alexandra striker Shaun Miller has signed for Morecambe on a season-long loan deal.

The 31-year-old will now link up with the Shrimps until the end of the 2019/20 Sky Bet League Two campaign, with his Crewe contract also coming to an end in summer 2020.

Shaun is eligible to represent Morecambe in cup competitions this season, but is ineligible to face Crewe in any competition.

The Alex signed Miller just last summer after an impressive return on loan from Carlisle United at the tail end of the 2017/18 season where he notched an impressive six goals in 15 appearances.

But after signing permanently, he managed just three goals in 33 appearances last year with a change in formation not helping his cause.

After conversations with Manager David Artell earlier this summer, it was decided that Miller would be allowed to leave if any interest arose & Morecambe have moved to bring in the striker.

He enjoyed a prolific season with the Shrimps, under current boss Jim Bentley, in 2015/16 scoring 16 goals in 43 games before electing to move on to Carlisle.

Graduating through the Crewe Alexandra academy, Shaun is another of the Club's favourite sons & everyone would like to wish him well in his new challenge at The Globe Arena.

Here's a video of Shaun scoring a late winner over the Vale - enjoy!
