Crewe Alexandra’s pre-season preparations will continue to a visit to Liverpool’s Academy this afternoon to take part in a practice match and training session with their Under-23s.

Liverpool’s Development Squad is managed by our former coach Neil Critchley and Crewe are grateful for the opportunity to visit the facility at Kirby, so the players can get more minutes under their belts in readiness for the new season.

Crewe’s first team coach Alex Morris explained: “We have been lucky enough to continue our good relationship with Critch (Neil Critchley) and we will go to Liverpool to play behind closed doors and to train there as well.

“It is good for the players to see something different and train at one of the best facilities in the country. I am sure they will enjoy the experience and it will be another good test against some quality youngsters.”
