David Artell says that the club remain hopeful on the extent of Nicky Hunt’s knee injury. The defender was stretched off against Wrexham at the weekend and it didn’t look good for the 35-year-old but the Crewe boss is hoping that the damage will be minimal.
The boss told crewealex.net: “Nicky has gone for a scan and it is not particularly god news but it could have been a lot worse. He has not done his ACL or anything like that but there appears to be some ligament damage there.
“We are having to wait for the swelling to go truly down before we can fully assess the extent of the damage. We will have to wait and see on that one.
“We have plenty of options there and I am not worried about that. That’s football. When one door closes another one opens for someone. So who is going to walk through it?”
