Gaffer looks forward to Burnley test this weekend.
After the double friendly wins over non-league Witton Albion and Curzon Ashton, the focus now switches to our most testing pre-season friendly against Premier League opponents Burnley on Saturday.
Sean Dyche’s squad will be equally split between Gresty Road and Vale Park but there is sure to be some top Premier League players on view and David Artell cannot wait to see his players perform against that calibre of player.
Artell told the club’s official website: “It should be a really game against Burnley. They emailed us and said that they wanted to bring a team to us and Port Vale and spilt it into two teams and we really appreciated the offer.
“I am sure there will be a number of top players for our players to test themselves against. It is always intriguing to see how you do against players at the top of their profession.
“We will be tested in different ways. We will have the ball at times and they will be difficult to expose. I think Sean (Dyche) is brilliant and they play good football.
“I hope a big crowd will come and get behind us and it is an opportunity to see some Premier League players, so it is a game we can all look forward to. They finished 15th in the toughest league in the world last season so we know we will be in for a severe test.”
