Artell: "I Expect My Phone Will Get Even Busier"

1 July 2019

As many football clubs return to full-time training, David Artell, believes that football agents and advisors will now be working overtime to line-up clubs for their clients.

The Crewe Alexandra boss feels that the transfer market will start to take more shape as players try and find clubs.

Artell has also revealed that he has received no offers for any of his players.

David told the club’s official website: “I am sure the market will start to move. Agents will be on the phones again to see if they can place their players. I am sure there will be some players beginning to panic a bit when they see players returning to pre-season training and they have nowhere to go.

“I expect my phone to be busier with the agents trying to influence our decisions. We will be offered all sorts and we will have to see if anything takes our fancy. A lot of it won’t be what we are looking for but you never know.”

He added: “It has still been relatively quiet and there are some clubs who have bought in no-one yet. I have had any offers for any of our players and all you can do is deal with that if and when it happens.”
