David Artell says that he would like to add another centre-half and a forward to his squad this summer.

The Crewe Alexandra manager has already signed defender Olly Lancashire and forward Daniel Powell and he is biding his time to make sure he gets the right pedigree of player into his dressing room.

Artell said to the club’s official website:  “We didn’t have a mass turnover of players this summer and with the trialists we have in at the moment, we had 31 players training yesterday.

“We will keep chipping away at it. We said as a staff at the start of the summer that we would get two in that we needed and then that would put us in a position to sit and wait.

“The market is what it is and we are in a position to move if something comes along that we like. That is what we wanted and that is how it has panned out so far.

“We feel that we might need another centre-half and a goalscorer, so that is what we are currently looking for. “
