David Artell was pleased that summer signing Daniel Powell was able to net on his first outing for the club in the 2-1 defeat at Nantwich Town on Saturday. Powell was in the right place at the right time to convert a drilled cross from Perry Ng to level things up at the Weaver Stadium.
The summer signing from Northampton showed his versatility by operating through the middle with trialist Paul Taylor.
Artell agreed that the former MK Dons wide man showed promising glimpses of his power and pace.
He said: “Daniel showed that he has power and pace and hopefully we will see a lot of more of it.
“That is why we bought him into the club. We know what he can offer us.
“He made a good start and he got his first goal. He was right in there and took it well after a good move.
“That has to continue but the fans could see what we can offer us in the final third.”
