David Artell firmly believes that the true value for money comes at the start and then at the end of the transfer market and he says that Crewe Alexandra remain well placed to add to the summer signings of Daniel Powell and Olly Lancashire.

The Alex boss stated last week that there will be no panicking from the Crewe camp because he feels more options will become available in this coming month as out-of-contact players tried to get placed ahead of the new season.

David told the club’s official website: “I am sure there will be supporters out there who will be thinking that we have signed more than we have but you have to be patient and get the right ones in.

“We have got two in who are of a good age and will improve us and we will hang fire until we get the ones we want.

“I’ve always said that the value comes later on in the market. It is there earlier on and then there is a lull and then there is an acceleration of business. You just have to remain patient.

“The season is still a month away and the window is two months away from closing, so we are not panicking at all.

“If it happens late for us then that is what will happen. We will look to get that real value for money and I won’t comprise on the quality we are after. There is no point bringing them in for the sake of bringing of them in.”
