Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell appreciates that his side will be tested in a totally different way by Burnley this weekend. The Alex take on the Premier League side at the Alexandra Stadium as part of our pre-season preparations and Artell is interested to see how our players fare in and out of possession.
Sean Dyche’s squad will be split into two, as the Clarets have a fixture at Vale Park, but Artell appreciates that it will be the biggest test of the summer whoever we face.
Artell told the club’s official website: “Burnley also have a game at Vale Park on the same day so the squad will be split evenly.
“We should still see some top Premier League player and it will be brilliant for our players and supporters.
“It will be a great test for us. We will be tested in different ways and in ways we want to be tested. We will be asked questions in and out of possession against top players and we will learn a lot about our own players.
“Hopefully the town will come down and make it a good atmosphere.”
