David Artell has today revealed to the official website that he has spoken to a Championship club recently, but that no bids have been made for any of his players. The Alex boss will be looking for the summer window for the top two divisions to close as soon as possible, so he can keep his main assets at the Football Club.
Artell explained to crewealex.net: “I took a call from a Championship club recently but does that mean we have had any offers for any of our players? No. The window is coming to a close soon for the Premier League and Championship clubs and I’m sure there will be some movement somewhere.
“If that is here remains to be seen. We have had no offers for any of our players and as a manager you have to cross that bridge if it happens. That’s football.
“Our business model continues to be to developing our own players and then selling them on. Are they ready to move on in their development? Some are and some have more work to do here. They have to keep on improving. Others I would say are ready but that doesn’t necessary mean we will have an offer coming in.”
