Despite frustratingly missing out on one transfer target this week, David Artell says that the work to sign some reinforcements in the January transfer window. The Alex staff are working diligently through the list of potential targets in what has always been a hectic period of the season for all clubs.
The Alex boss is not a fan of cramming in transfer business in the window of a month, but admits that it is part and parcel of football management. The boss remains hopeful that he can still add to his squad before Saturday's trip to MK Dons.
David told crewealex.net: “We have missed out on one but we move on and go again.
"I think we will still get one in by the end of the week. We're further away than we were on Friday, that's the truth, but these things can happen quickly
"We still have irons in the fire, it's just getting them over the line.
"It's a minefield. I had a phone call on the way in this morning, 8.10am from agent, and he was throwing all sorts of players at me.
"That's constant and daily. You have to pick your way through it.”
