Eddie Nolan says that our form over Christmas and into 2019 has proved that Crewe Alexandra should be placed higher in the division. Crewe have lost just one in six games to move away from the bottom places and into 14th place – but Nolan says we should be aiming a lot higher.
The 30-year-old defender, who returned from injury to help us win 1-0 at the MK Dons last week told iFollow the Alex: "It was a good day for us, the club and the fans last week but we have another tough game against Colchester and we have to do the same again.
"No-one expected us to do that, no-one gave us a chance, but we have shown in the last few games we are more than capable. We should be higher than our league position.
“That 6-0 defeat at Colchester stuck with me. It was an embarrassing performance and result on the night and we didn’t do ourselves justice at all. We certainly owe Colchester one!
“It was the same last season, they were better than us on the day and won 3-1 down there but we beat them 1-0 at our place and we will be looking to do the same again. We need to get one back on them and keep our own momentum going.
Eddie added: “Personally, I think Colchester are a very good team. They have very good players and they are up there for that reason.”
