Mr Reliable Nolan Back To Help Us Achieve 10th Clean-Sheet

21 January 2019

David Artell was quick to praise the return of the fit-again Eddie Nolan after the defender helped Crewe record only their second away win of the season at MK Dons at the weekend.

Nolan’s return to action could not have been better timed either following the injury to Nicky Hunt and the departure of Michael Raynes to Hartlepool on loan until the end of the season.

Nolan had missed the club’s last three games, but slipped in alongside George Ray and a resolute defensive display saw us register our 10th clean-sheet of the campaign.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “Eddie knows the game. He has that nous to know what is going on and he is tactically aware of what is happening around him. He is some player.

“He isn’t the quickest. He isn’t slow but he is not lightening, but he knows where to be and where to stand. He possesses a great football brain and he is a good footballer when he is in possession as well.

“He is reliable and it is good to have him back with us.”
