Crewe Alexandra are hopeful that the injuries to senior players, Paul Green and Nicky Hunt, are not too serious. Green missed Saturday’s 3-2 win over Newport County after he suffered a slight ankle injury after rolling over it in training in the build-up to the visit of The Exiles.
Defender Hunt was forced off in the late victory after he suffered a knee injury. He was replaced by Ollie Finney with seven minutes remaining on Saturday. Ryan Wintle switched to centre-half as Crewe staged a fantastic late comeback.
Hunt will be scanned later today but it is hoped that the injury to the vastly experienced defender won’t be too serious. The former Bolton man does have some swelling around the knee but is able to walk unaided.
