Crewe Alexandra are delighted to announce the signing of Newcastle United full-back Jamie Sterry on loan until the end of the season.
The 23-yeard-old returns to Gresty Road after enjoying a successful loan spell for the second half of last season
Sterry made nine appearances in a Crewe shirt & impressed as the Club ended the season third in the Sky Bet League Two form table.
Mainly playing Under 23 football for the Magpies this season, he has made three starts for Rafael Benitez's first team too, playing 90 minutes on all three occasions inclusive of the EFL Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest in August & the FA Cup third round, & replay, with Blackburn Rovers earlier this month.
Also making 20 appearances for Coventry City in 2016/17, he now has a wealth of senior experience & is set to assist the Alex in ending the season strongly once again.
Sterry hasn't signed in time to make his debut against Colchester United, but he will link up with his team mates for training at Reaseheath on Monday & will be available for selection against Carlisle United.
