Done Deal: Brad Walker Completes Shrewsbury Town Transfer

9 January 2019

Crewe Alexandra can announce the permanent transfer of Brad Walker to Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old has been immediately loaned out by the Shrews to Wrexham for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

Walker has penned a one-and-a-half-year contract at the Montgomery Waters Meadow, with the option of a further year.

The midfielder joined Crewe in July 2017 for an undisclosed fee from Hartlepool United following their relegation out of the EFL.

He made 33 appearances in his debut season for the Alex, notching two goals in home victories over Rotherham [FA Cup] & Grimsby.

Appearing only once in 2018/19 as a substitute away at Colchester, he joined Wrexham in August 2018, who were then managed by current Shrews boss Sam Ricketts.

Impressing at the Racecourse Ground, Walker scored four goals in 20 appearances before his loan expired on January 7.

Now completing his move to League One Shrewsbury, he immediately returns to Wrexham in the National League as they continue their bid for promotion.

Everyone at Crewe Alex would like to thank Brad for his contribution and wish him every success for the future.
