Crewe Alexandra are hopeful that experienced players, Paul Green and Eddie Nolan will be able to participate in training this week and declare themselves fit and available for the weekend trip to MK Dons.

Green missed the 3-2 win over Newport County after rolling his ankle in training ahead of our meeting with the FA Cup giant killers.

Nolan picked up a calf injury over the festive period and he has missed the club’s last three games.

David Artell told crewealex.net: “We are hoping that Greenie can train again later this week. The ankle is beginning to settle down so we will have to see how it is.

“Eddie has been able to do some stuff. He has been running for a number of days now and hopefully there will be no reaction when he is doing the contact stuff again.

“I would say that they are both not far off.”
