Boss: "We Have Made Only Tentative Steps"

30 January 2019

David Artell is pleased with the improvement in results but he says that we have to remain difficult to beat in the run-in.

David Artell has told the club’s official website that the target has to be continue our unbeaten and match the recent form of Saturday’s visitors’ Carlisle United who currently top the form table with eight wins from their last nine games and Mansfield Town who recently went 18 games unbeaten to storm into one of the automatic promotion places.

Ahead of this weekend’s intriguing clash between two of the division’s in-form sides, Artell told us: “As I said after the Colchester game, we are heading in the right direction and the results have improved slightly but we have to keep doing whatever takes to stay unbeaten and keep picking up points.

“We have now lost one in seven and that is a good improvement but when you look at Mansfield recently, they went 17, 18 games unbeaten to get into the top three. Once you get on a run like that then it becomes difficult to stop.

“We have made only tentative steps but we are becoming a more difficult side to beat and we have to keep it going.”
