David Artell says his Crewe Alexandra side have to dispel the label of being ‘unlucky losers’ away from home.
The Crewe boss says that narrow defeats have happened far too often this season for it to be put down to luck. Crewe will be looking to go three unbeaten at Bury this afternoon after back-to-back wins over Christmas.
Ahead of our trip to Gigg Lane, the Alex boss said: “We have to develop that hard to beat mentality. We always look to win every game and that is probably why we haven’t had too many draws, but we need to get those ones that are good points if you like.
“If you are 1-0 down at Bury and get an equaliser then it is a good point. Yeovil away wasn’t a good point because we should have won comfortably.
“We have been ‘unlucky’ away from home far too often and dropped far too many points. If we had another ten points like we should have, I am sure we would be right in the mix of the play-offs. Those ifs, maybes, should have, could have done don’t count. You get nothing for them.
“We have to dispel this unlucky away from home myth right away. We are not in the game for that. We want to be winners.”
