And that is the way the gaffer likes it for now...
David Artell says he may well be tempted to switch off his mobile phone once he has been able to finalise one or two deals in the January transfer window!
The Crewe Alexandra boss understands the business blueprint of the Football Club having previous worked in the Academy structure and seeing his former team-mates, Nick Powell and Ashley Westwood move on following the promotion winning season of 2012.
He knows that the club have to allow their younger assets to move on when the time is right and he is certain that potential suitors will have been watching his players closely.
David told the club’s official website: “I am sure there is always interest in Crewe players because we produce good young players. I’m sure there is interest in one or two but we have not received any offers for any of our players.
“Hopefully that will continue in the last few days of the January window. In fact I might switch my phone off after he signed a couple!
“I understand the business model here. We have done it over many years now and if the right offers do come in then we consider it but we will always look to do the best for the club and the player. It has to be right and if it is then we don’t stand in their way.
“Like I’ve said though, we have not had one offer for one of our players.”
