Artell Hopeful On 'Getting One Into The Building' This Week

14 January 2019

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell is hoping to bolster his squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to promotion seeking MK Dons. The Alex boss offloaded Brad Walker to Shrewsbury Town last week for an undisclosed fee and he has already stated that he would like to bring in extra competition at full-back after deciding not to extend the loan deals of Corey Whelan and Kevin O’Connor.

The Alex boss said following the dramatic 3-2 win over Newport County on Saturday that he would like a new face inside the building as soon as possible.

Following the three points over Michael Flynn’s FA Cup giant killer Artell told crewealexnet: "The good thing is we're in the January transfer window. We thought we'd get one over the line last week and we haven't.

"I spoke to a manager late (Friday) night, a Championship manager, and we'll try to get one done early this week so he's in the building and can get working with us and see how we go about our business."
