"Another Tasty Fixture To Look Foward To"

31 January 2019

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell is looking forward to what he describes as a ‘tasty fixture’ with Steven Pressley’s Carlisle United side this weekend.

The Cumbrians are currently four in the League Two table and top the form table after eight wins from their last nine games.

Crewe are also in form after winning three on the bounce and Artell says that after narrowly losing 1-0 twice to Carlisle this season, the Alex will be looking to avenge those defeats at the Alexandra Stadium.

Crewe have won 10 games at home this season and have recently overcome promotion hopefuls, Lincoln City and Colchester United during our mini-run of good results.

David told crewealex.net: “Carlisle are top of the form table and we are there as well. They have an impressive away form and we have an impressive home record, so it is another tasty game coming up.

“We have already played them twice this season and not been on the right side of the line twice. We have played reasonably well in both games and probably didn’t get what we deserved in both games.

He added: “They have good players and they have their strengths and weaknesses like everyone else. They are on a good run but so are we and although we respect them, we do not feat them.”
