David Artell has revealed to the club’s official website that he did not receive ‘any substantial offers’ for any of his players on deadline day. The Alex boss admitted that he had tentative enquires about one or two but no official offers were submitted.
Crewe managed to retain all their main assets and add full-backs, Jamie Sterry and Aaron Taylor-Sinclair to the ranks.
David told the club’s official website: “We did not receive any substantial offers for any of our players. Not one. We had some tentative enquires and there were a lot of rumours floating about that if this player goes then they will come in for one of ours. There was all that but no-one came in and put their money where their mouths were, if you like.
“Nothing came from the tentative enquiries I had. Those clubs will probably go with their own players for the remaining months of the season and then reassess it in the summer. “
