Squad Is In Good Shape Ahead Of Cheshire Derby

7 February 2019

Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager Kenny Lunt says the squad is in good shape ahead of this weekend’s Cheshire derby at the Moss Rose. The Alex travel to Macclesfield aiming to secure a fourth straight win and really put us within touching distance of the top seven. Sol Campbell’s Silkmen need the three points for different reasons as they aim to emerge from a tough relegation fight.

Crewe go into Saturday’s clash with only James Jones (ankle) missing through injury.

Kenny told crewealex.net: “The squad is in good shape and the lads are training well. Having the game postponed last week was a disappointment because we wanted to play at home but on the positive side it has allowed one or two with some knocks to recover.

“The likes of Paul Green and Eddie Nolan have only benefitted from another two weeks of training with no game.

“We only have James out injured and that is unfortunate because he had been playing really well. Hopefully he will back in a few weeks and really help us again in the run-in.

“We are in February and only have the one injury so we can’t complain too much and hopefully that continues. “
