Ray: "We Shouldn't Be Fearing Anyone At Home"

22 February 2019

Skipper George Ray believes that Crewe Alexandra have earned the right not to fear anyone at home.

Crewe host play-off chasing Exeter City this weekend aiming to record a sixth straight home success and although Ray has great respect for the opposition he says that the Railwaymen have shown that can beat anyone on their day.

The Alex go into this weekend’s game, seven unbeaten and hoping to get within two points of eighth placed Exeter.

George told the club’s official website: “We got a good point at Oldham last weekend on what was a tough pitch. It was good to get the late goal and keep our unbeaten going.

“We are on a good run and we have to try and keep it going. We have Exeter and that will be another tough game but we have shown that we can beat anyone at home.

“We are top of the form table for home games, so we shouldn’t be fearing anyone.

“We are still mid-table so we are not getting on top of ourselves but we have two home games coming up and that gives us a great chance of getting more points. We are not getting carried away but we are looking upwards for once and that is a nice feeling to have.

“It is up to us to give ourselves a great chance and make those home games count.”
