David Artell says that the rebuilding of his squad is still work in progress but the Crewe boss believes that we are beginning to see much improvement. The Alex boss says that the last six or seven weeks is the reward for the work over the last 18 months and although not there yet, we are progressing in the right direction.
The Crewe Alexandra boss told us: “It is four unbeaten away from home and coupled with the home form we are looking more like it. There has been improvement but there is still a lot of work to do. We are only going along the right lines.
“I’ve wanted the team to progress and that takes time. It has taken time. We have done well over the last couple of months but that progression has been heading towards that for the last 18 months.
“We had to come in and pick everyone up and rebuilt the squad and that takes time. I would say this is the best squad I’ve assembled since I took over.
“The last six weeks has shown that we are progressing in the right direction and hopefully that will continue through Easter and into May.”
