The former Coventry City and Fleetwood Town manager, Steve Pressley has recently succeeded the Chesterfield-bound John Sheridan as manager of Carlisle United and the former Scotland International defender has certainly inherited a team on the crest of a wave.
The Cumbrians arrive in South Cheshire for tonight's re-arranged fixture aiming to break into one of the automatic promotion places.
Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell is expecting a tough game against the division’s in-form side.
He said: “John (Sheridan) did a good job and left for his own reasons. Steven is an experienced manager and his team will resemble him as a player so I fully expect a tough game because he was ultra-competitive as a player and he has taken that into management.
“Carlisle have some quality with the likes of Grainger, Devitt and Hope and Steven has added a few on loan over the last few days as well. They have the quality but they also work hard as well.
“We work hard and have quality as well, so it should be a good game and another good test for us. We have had a few of them lately and came through them, so we have to give everything again to try and get another three points.”
