Defender Eddie Nolan said it was ‘never in doubt’ that he would sign a new contract with Crewe Alexandra.

He has put pen-to-paper on fresh two-year-terms, keeping him in South Cheshire under summer 2021.

With his previous contract set to expire this coming summer, Nolan said was a ‘no-brainer’ for him to extend his stay with the Alex.

Eddie told iFollow: “When there was talk of a new contract it was never in doubt that I’d sign & I’m happy to have finally got it sorted.

“This is somewhere where I’m happy & settled playing my football & I’m looking to just put all that to the back of my mind now & just concentrate on hopefully getting into the play-offs.

“I really wanted to get it sorted from day one. It is the first Club I’ve been settled at for a good few years now, so it was a no-brainer really.

“It’s been a good couple of years for me to get back playing regularly every week, I’m enjoying football & I settled in great here.”
