Assistant manager, Kenny Lunt, says that the coaching staff at the club never doubted that what they were doing would pay off in the end.
Crewe Alexandra have established themselves as one of the most consistent sides in the division over the last couple of months and that form has resulted in manager David Artell being nominated for Manager of the Month at our level. The winner is announced on Friday.
Lunt though says it is the players’ belief and application that have ultimately changed things around in terms of results.
Kenny told Crewealex.net “You can’t doubt yourself in what you do, I don’t think you could be in the job otherwise.
“You have to believe in what you are doing, and even though when it doesn’t work there will be a few who doubt you, you can’t doubt yourself.
“You are asking the players to believe, so you have to believe yourself. We know what works.
“And you can’t get too down. We haven’t changed much, it’s just down to the belief the lads have within themselves now.
“They might see there has been a change in the tempo of training – but it’s not because of what we are doing, it’s what they are doing themselves.
Lunt added: “We’ll give the credit to the lads, it’s them who are doing it.”
