Loan Watch 👀: Offord Helps Witton To Win Over League Leaders

25 February 2019

Luke Offord enjoyed a second clean sheet in as many games since joining Witton Albion on loan.

After recording a 2-0 victory at Workington on debut last week, Albion went to Evo-Stik Premier League table toppers Farsley Celtic & recorded a impressive 1-0 victory, with Offord once again playing 90 minutes.

In the same divison, Will Jaaskelainen's Nantwich Town suffered 94th minute heartbreak to draw 3-3 with Warrington Town - who replaced Farsley Celtic at the top with that point. The Dabbers had been 3-1 ahead, but the draw means they stay in fourth in the league table.

A tier higher in the National League North, Billy Sass-Davies helped FC United of Manchester to a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw at Southport, but the side stay second bottom with a gap of seven points to safety after a run of six games without a win.

Josh Lundstram came close to scoing his maiden senior goal for Nuneaton at York City but for a superb save by the Minstermen goalkeeper. That helped York see out a 2-0 victory over Borough who stay at the bottom of the table on 21 points, well adrift of the other 21 teams.

Curzon Ashton & Lewis Reilly had been on a fine run of form until losing to Brackley Town last week, but things went really sour for the Nash at the weekend. Reilly played 90 minutes as the side suffered a 6-0 home defeat to Altrincham to leave them 13th in the table - eight points away from the play-offs.

Michael Raynes is continuing his rehabilitation from his achillies injury, Hartlepool losing 2-1 at home to Bromley in the National League without the defender's service.
