Jonah Is Pushing Himself Every Day And Is Progressing Very Nicely

14 February 2019

David Artell says that his injured midfielder James Jones is progressing well and he will be an added bonus to add to his squad for the last couple of months of the season.

Jones is recovering from the  ankle ligament injury he sustained away at MK Dons and the Crewe boss has praised the work the former Scotland Under-21 has done with head physio Mark Cornish.

Although he has not out a time frame on a return, Jones is worked tirelessly at the club’s Reaseheath complex to try and get back as soon as possible. He is currently Crewe’s only senior player to be missing through injury.

David told us: “Jonah is progressing really well. He is working his socks and Mark (Cornish) has been absolutely superb this season. What an addition he has been for us and I’ve not given him enough credit for the work he has done with the players and getting them back with us.

“It is down to the players and knowing their bodies but Mark has been first class with his rehabilitation.

He added: “I don’t know how long Jonah will be missing for but I know he is pushing himself every day and that is all I can ask. We haven’t had too many mid-week games, so he hasn’t missed so many games and when he does come back then what an option that gives us again in midfield.”
