Having reviewed last weekend’s defeat to Exeter City, boss David Artell says that his team just need to be a bit more careful with the final ball. Crewe’s impressive unbeaten run came to an end against the Grecians following a 2-1 loss at Gresty Road but Artell was pleased with the aspects of the performance.

The Crewe Alexandra boss said: “I have seen the game again and we really did get into some great positions. That final ball just let us down. It was even more than I thought at the time because of the possession we had and the positions we managed to get ourselves in.

“We could have taken more care, passed the ball into the right areas or hit a better cross. That is what let us down.

“We played some real good stuff and kept the ball well. I thought it was two good teams and the performance from us was relatively good. We know what we need to improve on going into Saturday.

“If we can play like what we can and make better decisions then we will have a great chance of winning the game.”
