Boss: "Improvement Has To Continue"

5 February 2019

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says he continues to learn about his own capabilities and his players’ every day.

Artell recently celebrated his second anniversary as manager of the club after succeeding Steve Davis as manager and our recent run of form has seen him nominated for the Manager of the Month award for January in League Two.

Talking ahead of our Cheshire derby away at Macclesfield Town this weekend, the Crewe boss said: “I am learning every day about myself and it may be little things about the players, a little coaching thing or the sessions.

“The more you learn and analyse things the better you become. This is a great club for that because it gives everyone a chance to develop and improve. As a manager I get that time to learn as a manager and transmit that to the games.

The boss added: “We have seen an improvement over the last six or seven weeks but we have to keep that going. We have to prove that it is not a flash in the pan and I don’t think it is. The players are more than capable of keeping it going.”
