Artell: "Exeter Are Another Tough Side"

22 February 2019

David Artell has told that he expects another tough home assignment against 8th placed Exeter City this weekend. Crewe will be aiming to claw some points back on another of those teams currently ahead of us in the League Two table and in the process extend our unbeaten run to eight games.

Crewe are also seeking their sixth straight home win after a recent run of impressive form has given us a an outside chance of breaking into the top seven ourselves.

Ahead of another key fixture at Gresty Road, Artell said: “Exeter is a good team. They have been playing well lately and probably not got the results they have deserved. We know it will be another tough game.

“They are just outside the play-offs and they will be hoping that they can get in there and stay in there. We are the same. That is what we want to do.

“We have had them watched and like I say, they are a good team but we have beaten a few good teams of late. We didn’t play particularly well at their place and I would suggest that they probably were not on top of their game either.

“They are well established League Two side and they are striving to get into League One. They have been a bit unfortunate not to have done that under Paul (Tisdale) in the past.”
