Preview: The Railwaymen Welcome Scunthorpe United

28 December 2019

It's a quick turn around for the Alex as they take on Scunthorpe United at Gresty Road. The reds will be looking to bounce back from their 3-1 Boxing Day defeat at the hands of Salford City.

Despite the defeat, Crewe currently sit in third spot and eight points off league leaders Swindon Town with a game in hand. The visitors also fell to a defeat, as Walsall left with a 2-0 victory and all three points.

Both sides were on impressive unbeaten runs until Boxing Day, so they will both be keen to gain back that momentum tomorrow afternoon.

The last time Scunthorpe took on the Alex was in 2016, which at the time was a League One fixture. Only Charlie Kirk, Callum Ainley and James Jones were present that day from the current crop.
