Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell is targeting a consistent Christmas to make sure we consolidate our position in the top places in League Two.
The games come thick and fast at this time of year with Crewe starting their demanding Christmas campaign with a tough away encounter at Stevenage. The club changed manager this week, with the experienced Graham Westley going back in there for a fourth time - but the Alex boss says it is vital we concentrate on what we want to do performance wise.
David told the club’s official website: “A good Christmas and New Year can really set you up for the last few months. It can change very quickly in a short space of time because of the turnaround of fixtures.
“If you are consistent and manage to collect points then you tend to stay where you are or better still climb the table. If the opposite happens then you can soon plummet out of those top positions. It is a fairly open division, it is all very tight and I wouldn’t say there is a stand our team this time around.
The boss added: “There are a lot of points up for grabs in a quick period of time and our aim will be to get as many as we can and see where we are in January. It is where we are in April that counts but having a good run now can really set you up. “
