"Actions Speak Louder Than Words So We Have To Go And Get The Job Done"

10 December 2019

David Artell says that only action and a solid performance will see Crewe Alexandra progress to the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in over a decade.

The Crewe boss is targeting a third round home tie against Championship side Barnsley but he expects against tough test against National League side Eastleigh this evening.

Ahead of our FA Cup second round  replay, Artell told crewealex.net: “I obviously don’t want to give too much away from what we learned from playing against them in the first game but there are things we have picked up.

“We are now at home, so we go into the tie full of confidence but also wary of the threat that Eastleigh pose.

“I don’t think either side will be too different from the first game and we know anything can happen in the FA Cup. We have to be prepared for whatever they throw at us again and we have to be better than we were in the second half down there.

The boss added: “We know that we play to our level then we will have a good night but if we don’t then it will be another tough cup tie for us.

“It is all just words at the moment and actions speak louder than words. We have got to go out there and get the job done.”
