Done Deal: Crewe Loan Chuma Anene From FC Midtjylland

20 August 2019

Crewe Alexandra have signed striker Chuma Anene on loan from Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland on loan until the end of the season, subject to medical & international clearance.

The 6ft2 Norwegian powerhouse joins the Alex having most recently been on loan at FK Jerv in the Norwegian First Division.

Anene has never played in the UK previously, but has a wealth of experience on the continent including playing in the Russian Premier League for Amkar Perm.

He is ineligible for the trip to Crawley, but could be in line for a potential debut at Newport County AFC on Saturday.

The 26-year-old came through the youth ranks at Valarenga in his native Norway, scoring four goals in 27 appearances before dropping down a division to Ullensaker/Kisa.

After five goals in 14 impressive performances, Macedonian Premier League side Rabotnicki Skopje acquired his services in 2014. He played in the Macedonian capital for two seasons, notching ten goals in 44 appearances before a move to the Russian Premier League materialised in 2016.

He joined Amkar Perm & scored on his debut away at Zenit St Petersburg to clinch a 1-1 draw for his new side. During his two seasons in the Russian top flight, he scored two goals in 28 games before he was allowed to move on in 2017.

This time he was in Kazakhstan playing for Premier League side Kairat & scored eight goals in 38 games. He stayed with the Club for two seasons until September 2018 when he signed a pre-contract agreement with Midtjylland, joining Danish Club FC Fredericia until 1 January 2019.

After officially signing for Midtjylland on New Years Day, he immediately returned to Fredericia on loan before he was recalled in March 2019 & sent out to Jerv.

He has scored five goals in 14 games for Jerv this season, and played most recently as Sunday - getting 90 minutes under his belt in a 3-2 win away at Sandnes Ulf.

Anene will wear the number 17 shirt at Gresty Road & everyone at the Club would like to welcome him to English football.
