Crewe Alexandra have handed a deal to goalkeeper Sam Booth on a non-contract basis until the end of the 2019/20 season.
The 18-year-old graduated from the The Alex academy in the summer, but wasn't initially handed a professional deal at the end of his scholarship.
But credit to the youngster, he stayed on & continued to work hard at Reaseheath over the summer with Fred Barber & the other goalkeepers & has now been handed terms.
Booth has played in two of Alex Morris' Under 23 games so far this season & has also represented Sandbach United first team to aid their early season goalkeeping crisis.
He was part of the Under 18 side that had a successful run to the FA Youth Cup fourth round last season, producing a fine performance in the third round victory away at Bristol City.
The move comes at an opportunist time for The Alex, with Will Jaaskelainen set to miss upcoming games having been called up by the Finland Under 21 squad.
He will wear the number 27 shirt for Crewe this season & will provide good cover in the goalkeeping department & competition for the under 23 squad.
Congratulations to Sam from everyone at the Club for his hard work & perseverance.
