David Artell says that he is excited by the prospect of adding Chuma Anene after completing the loan signing of the Norwegian striker earlier today. Anene who has played all over Europe has signed on loan until the end of the season.
Anene travelled to Crawley Town to watch his team-mates in action this evening as the Railwaymen won 2-1 to go top of the table. The Alex boss was delighted to get the experienced forward over the line after weeks of work behind the scenes.
David explained to the club’s official website: “It has been going on for a few weeks and Midtjylland have been excellent with us.
“We hope he hits the ground running but it may take a bit of time for him to settle because he has come from a different country and a different culture, but he is an intelligent lad and has made a good early impression on everyone.
“Hopefully, he will come here and score goals. When Ports needs a breather then we hope he will come in and do just as well as he is doing. Porter has been exceptional for us and he was here again against Crawley.
“They could play together if needed and I think it is always exciting when a new player comes into the club. Hopefully he can improve us and score some goals.
He added: “We have done our due diligence on him and spoke to people like Henning Berg about him. He comes with good references and we like what we have seen."
