Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that his side have to continue in the same vein of form that has seen them give Plymouth Argyle a real game, win 2-1 at Oldham and defeat Championship side Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Crewe host Walsall this weekend aiming to get our first home points of the new season and Artell says that his side will have to hit the standard again to do so.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “We have had three good performances and that has resulted in two good results against Oldham and Middlesbrough. That has to continue. If we can play like we have done in the previous three and cut out the mistakes then we have a good chance of winning the game on Saturday.
“It is a local game for us in a way and that means they will bring a lot of supporters. It is a good game for us. They also came down last year, so we know it will be another test but our home form was very good last season and we have to get back to that.
He added: “If we are on our metal and do what we need to do then we have a good chance of winning the game.”
