David Artell has told the club’s official website that Charlie Kirk has limited the number of mistakes he makes by becoming more mature on and off the field.
Kirk, 21, has been one of the club’s most consistent performers over the last 18 months, scoring 11 goals from wide areas last season and assisting in double figures as well.
Artell is confident that the Academy graduate is set for another influential season with us.
The boss told the club’s official website: “Charlie has been outstanding for the last 12 to 15 months. To score the amount of goals he has from wide areas is a very good return and he has to keep that going.
“He is a terrific player and he is maturing nicely. His girlfriend has helped with that and getting his own house and generally all the things that come with life. Now he is a man when before he was a boy in his head.
“He has grown up in his life and he has a bright future in the game. I think he will score a lot of goals for us because he is an excellent player and I am not bigging him up for no reason. “
