Artell On Bradford Visit

30 August 2019

David Artell has told crewealex.net that he expects another fantastic atmosphere at Gresty Road with the well supported Bradford City arriving in town. The Alex have already had some memorable atmospheres this season against Plymouth, Walsall and Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup and Artell says he wants to see Gresty Road rocking again this weekend.

Crewe face Gary Bowyer’s Bradford City side and the Bantams have also made a strong start to the season. They are currently 9th on 8 points, and just a point behind the Alex, who are 6th following that narrow 1-0 defeat at Newport.

Ahead of another intriguing home game, the boss said: “Bradford are a big club, with a big fan base, big name players and a really good manager. They will bring a lot of supporters I am sure, and that is what you want. You want good atmospheres.

“They have big name players and a few of our former players will be coming back too, with Kelvin Mellor, Clayton Donaldson and they have just taken Callum Cooke on loan.

“Staff were saying that the Aston Villa atmosphere was like the good old days, the Championship days, and that is what we want to create. We want more days and nights like that.

“It will be another tough game but I always believe that if we play to our potential then we are a match for any team in this league, both home and away.”
