Ahead of this season’s opening game against Plymouth Argyle, David Artell has asked the Crewe Alexandra supporters to stick with his players through thick and thin during the next nine months.
In the build up to the start of the 2019/2020 season, Artell has only reiterated how crucial the support is going to be both at home and away.
The boss told the club’s official website: “The message to the fans will be for them to stick with us.
“With any successful season it is never a complete smooth ride. There are odd blips along the way and the support our fans give us will be crucial.
“Everyone seems to note that we play better in front of bigger, noisier crowds, so they can help with that. They can do their part and not be ashamed to sing their heads off, even if the person next to them isn’t singing.
He added: “I’ve played in front of that Main Stand and when it is in full voice, it makes a right racket. It doesn’t half give you a lift as a home player. Hopefully we can get the place rocking like it was last season when we had one of the best home records in the division. “
