Artell: "We Want To End The Season On A High"

3 April 2019

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says it is important that we end the season on a high and one of those highs would be by winning at rivals Port Vale this weekend. Crewe will be looking to avenge our derby day defeat at Gresty Road when Leon Legge headed the only goal of the game back in September.

Crewe have made their chances of  gatecrashing the top seven places even more difficult following the 3-1 home defeat to Cheltenham at the weekend but Artell wants us to target as many points as we can in the remaining six games.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “We want to finish the season on a high and make sure we improve on last season’s final position and the final point total. There are six games left and plenty to play for. We want to get as many of the 18 points as we can and end the season well, so we can look back and see the progress made.

“We want to play well and win every game if we can. That is the objective and we won’t allow our levels to drop. We cannot afford to have any margin for error if we want to catch those teams above us and we know we have to become more consistent next season.”
